Nagpur Police Bust Major Sex Racket in Hudkeshwar, Mother-Son Duo Arrested in Operation Shakti

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, Nagpur Crime Branch has busted a sex racket operating in the Hudkeshwar area under Operation Shakti. Shockingly, the alleged masterminds behind this illegal network turned out to be a mother and son, identified as Sunita Vikas Kamble and Yash Vikas Kamble.

According to police sources, the racket came to light after a tip-off. Acting swiftly, the Crime Branch planned a decoy operation by sending in a fake customer. Once an advance payment of ₹1,000 was made to the accused, police raided the premises and arrested the duo red-handed.

Sex racket operated under RTO cover

Investigations revealed that the accused had rented a house around six months ago under the pretext of running an RTO-related business. However, behind closed doors, they were running a prostitution racket.

During the raid, police also rescued a 27-year-old woman, who was allegedly lured from Chhattisgarh with the promise of money and later forced into the sex trade.

Premium clients targeted through WhatsApp

The modus operandi of the accused was highly organized. Police said they targeted only premium clients, first sharing women’s photographs on WhatsApp. Once the client selected a woman, advance money was collected before arranging the meeting.

Cash, mobiles seized

From the spot, police seized material worth ₹94,700, which included ₹63,500 in cash and four mobile phones used in the operation.

Previous sex racket busted in Nagpur

This is not the first time such an incident has been reported in Nagpur. On August 14, the police had busted a high-profile sex racket in Sitabuldi, where a unisex salon in a posh apartment was being used as a front for prostitution.

Commissioner’s warning

Nagpur Police Commissioner has made it clear that under Operation Shakti, strict action will continue against such organized networks. Police are determined to eliminate sex rackets from Nagpur and ensure the safety of women in the city.
