Mumbai Family Death Mystery: Watermelon Not the Cause Behind 4 Deaths, Forensic Probe Reveals Shocking Details

Mumbai Crime News | Bureau Report Akash Dhake | Khabar 24 Express

Mumbai: A shocking twist has emerged in the mysterious death case of four members of a family in Mumbai’s Paydhuni area. What was initially believed to be a case of food poisoning caused by watermelon has now taken a completely different turn after fresh forensic and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) findings.

The tragic incident involved Abdullah Dokadia and his family, whose sudden deaths created panic and speculation across Mumbai and social media. Early reports claimed that the family fell seriously ill after consuming watermelon, leading many to suspect contaminated fruit as the cause of death.

However, the latest investigation has reportedly ruled out watermelon poisoning.

FDA Report Finds No Poison in Food Samples

According to preliminary findings from the Food & Drug Administration, investigators collected around 11 food samples from the family’s residence. These included watermelon, biryani, rice, chicken, dates, spices, and drinking water.

Officials reportedly found no traces of poison, contamination, or harmful adulteration in any of the tested food items. This major revelation has shifted the focus of the investigation toward other possible causes.

The report has raised fresh questions:
If the food was safe, what actually caused the deaths of four family members?

Morphine Found During Postmortem Examination

The mystery deepened after postmortem findings reportedly detected morphine in the bodies of the deceased. Morphine is a strong pain-relief drug generally used in controlled medical situations.

Investigators are now trying to determine how the substance entered the victims’ bodies.

Sources linked to the investigation also revealed that abnormal greenish changes were noticed in body tissues during forensic examination, indicating the possibility of exposure to a toxic substance.

This has led authorities to suspect that the deaths may not have been accidental food poisoning but could involve another unidentified chemical or substance.

Police Investigating Every Possible Angle

Mumbai Police has intensified the probe and is currently examining multiple angles, including:

  • Digital evidence
  • Phone call records
  • Medical history
  • Toxicology analysis
  • Possible external substances

Forensic experts from Kalina Laboratory have also reportedly found unidentified particles during testing. However, officials have not yet confirmed whether those particles are linked to poison, medication, or another unknown substance.

Toxicology Report Expected to Reveal the Truth

At present, investigators are waiting for the final toxicology report, which is expected to play a crucial role in uncovering the exact cause of death.

The case has become one of Mumbai’s most talked-about mysteries, with many questioning whether it was a tragic accident, medical negligence, or something far more sinister.

Authorities have urged people not to spread rumors regarding watermelon poisoning until the complete forensic investigation is concluded.

As the investigation continues, the deaths of Abdullah Dokadia and his family remain shrouded in suspense, leaving Mumbai residents searching for answers.
