Indore Accident: Out-of-Control Truck Mows Down Crowd in Indore, 3 Dead, Deadly Accident on Airport Road

Indore, September 15, 2025: A horrific road accident shook Indore’s Airport Road on Monday evening as an out-of-control truck ran over pedestrians and vehicles, leaving chaos and panic in its wake. So far, police have confirmed the deaths of three people, while eyewitnesses claim that between 5 to 7 people may have lost their lives. Several others have been critically injured and are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

How the Accident Happened

According to eyewitnesses, the truck (registration number MP09 ZP 4069) was empty but speeding at an uncontrollable pace. The driver was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, and the truck’s brakes may have failed. The vehicle crushed multiple cars, e-rickshaws, and bikes as it sped from Shikshak Nagar to Ramchandra Nagar Chowk.

Eyewitness Subhash Soni said,

“The truck’s brakes failed, and the driver was drunk. The tires even caught fire, and it kept hitting people. Three people were trapped under the truck, and I fear 5 to 7 may have died.”

Bike Caught Fire, Worsening the Situation

Eyewitnesses reported that a bike got stuck in the truck’s undercarriage and was being dragged along the road. The constant friction led to a blast, causing the truck to catch fire. The scene quickly turned terrifying as smoke and flames rose from the vehicle. Blood and shattered glass littered the road, adding to the panic.

Police Detain the Driver

Police and emergency teams rushed to the scene after receiving the call. ACP Amit Singh confirmed that three people have died in the accident. The truck driver has been detained and is being interrogated. Preliminary reports suggest that he was intoxicated and unable to control the vehicle. Authorities are working to identify the deceased and are investigating the exact causes of the crash.

Condition of the Injured

The injured have been admitted to local hospitals. Medical sources reported that four patients are in critical condition and have been placed in the ICU, while two others have been referred to the M.Y. Hospital for further treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring the patients’ conditions.

The accident caused widespread panic on Airport Road. Police forces were deployed immediately to control the situation. The administration has urged the public to remain calm, avoid rumors, and adhere to traffic rules as investigations continue.
