A massive fire broke out near Dhamangaon village in Nagpur’s Bhiwapur tehsil, spreading rapidly from forest areas due to strong winds. Over 10 fire engines rushed to the spot as hundreds of homes are feared damaged.

A devastating fire incident has created panic in Nagpur district, where flames originating from a nearby forest rapidly spread into a residential village, leaving behind a trail of destruction. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in Dhamangaon village of Bhiwapur tehsil, located around 60 kilometers from Nagpur city.

According to initial reports, the fire began in the forest area but intensified quickly due to strong winds and sudden stormy weather. Within minutes, the flames advanced towards the village, engulfing multiple houses and triggering chaos among residents.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire spread at an alarming speed, making it extremely difficult for locals to control the situation. Despite desperate attempts by villagers to douse the flames, the intensity of the fire overwhelmed all efforts.

As soon as authorities were alerted, at least 10 fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the spot. Firefighters are currently engaged in continuous operations to bring the blaze under control. Visuals circulating on social media show terrifying scenes of the village surrounded by massive flames, highlighting the scale of the disaster.

Officials fear that hundreds of houses may have been damaged in the incident, although the exact extent of the loss is yet to be officially confirmed. So far, there are no confirmed reports of casualties, but the situation remains critical.

The local administration and fire department are closely monitoring developments and have intensified rescue and containment efforts. Emergency response teams are working round the clock to prevent further spread and minimize damage.

This shocking incident has once again raised serious concerns over forest fire management and disaster preparedness in rural regions of Maharashtra.
