Maharashtra Crime News: Nashik ‘Captain Baba’ Ashok Kharat Case – Sex Racket, Blackmailing, ₹1500 Crore Empire and Suspected Human Sacrifice Investigation

Nashik Crime News | Bureau Report Khabar 24 Express

Self-proclaimed ‘Cosmology Expert’ arrested in Nashik; SIT recovers 100+ obscene videos, missing bullets raise suspicion of 5 human sacrifices

In a shocking and deeply disturbing case from Maharashtra’s Nashik, a 67-year-old self-styled godman, Ashok Kharat, who introduced himself as a ‘Captain’ and ‘Cosmology Expert’, has come under intense investigation for serious charges including sexual exploitation, blackmailing, financial fraud, and alleged links to human sacrifice.

The case has triggered widespread outrage as investigators uncover layer after layer of a dark and complex network that allegedly operated across multiple cities with high-profile connections.

According to police officials, Ashok Kharat was arrested on March 18 following allegations by a 35-year-old woman, who accused him of repeated sexual assault and blackmail. However, what initially appeared to be an isolated case soon turned into one of Maharashtra’s most chilling crime investigations.

During raids conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), authorities recovered more than 100 suspicious and explicit videos, ₹8 lakh in cash, a firearm, and a large number of property-related documents. The most alarming detail, however, was the discovery that five bullets from the seized pistol were missing.

This has led investigators to suspect the possibility of up to five human sacrifices, although officials have clarified that forensic examination is underway and no final confirmation has been made yet.

Police sources reveal that Kharat used the disguise of spiritual healing and tantric rituals to target vulnerable women. Victims approaching him for solutions related to illness, family disputes, or childlessness were allegedly manipulated and taken into isolated rooms under the pretext of ‘purification rituals’.

Hidden spy cameras were reportedly used to record compromising videos, which were later used to blackmail the victims, trapping them in a cycle of exploitation.

The investigation has further exposed a widespread network spanning Nashik, Pune, Mumbai, Shirdi, and Ahilyanagar.

In Sinnar (Nashik), a 3.5-acre property named ‘Shri Shivanika Sansthan’ is under scrutiny, where secret rooms and evidence of suspicious rituals have been found. Meanwhile, a farmhouse in Ahilyanagar is suspected to be a key location where occult practices were allegedly performed.

Authorities have also identified multiple benami properties in Pune and Mumbai, including alleged permanent luxury suites in five-star hotels used for meetings with influential clients.

One of the most shocking revelations is the scale of Kharat’s financial empire. Over the past 10–12 years, he is believed to have built assets worth approximately ₹1500 crore.

He reportedly marketed a product called ‘Elvish Honey’, claiming it was sourced from Turkish sea caves and could enhance sexual power. The product was allegedly sold at prices as high as ₹9 lakh per kilogram. Investigators suspect this business may have been used as a front for money laundering.

The case has now taken a political turn as links to bureaucrats and politicians have surfaced. A deputy collector has already been transferred after alleged property links between his family and Kharat were revealed.

Additionally, allegations have been made by opposition leaders claiming that certain political figures were involved in occult practices linked to the accused. Though these claims are yet to be officially verified, they have intensified the controversy.

The situation escalated further when a violent crowd attacked a police van during Kharat’s court appearance in Nashik. The court has currently extended his police custody till March 29 as investigations continue.

Conclusion:

As the probe deepens, this case is no longer just about one man. It raises serious questions about blind faith, organized exploitation, and the possible existence of a much larger hidden network.

With forensic reports awaited and more evidence being analyzed, authorities believe that many more shocking revelations may surface in the coming days.
