Nitish Kumar Still Bihar CM? JDU President Umesh Kushwaha Says “Mandate Belongs to Nitish Kumar”, Sparks Political Buzz

Bihar politics has once again become the center of attention after a significant statement from Janata Dal (United) leaders triggered fresh speculation about Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s position and the future of the NDA government in the state.

JDU State President Umesh Kushwaha made it clear that there is no question of discussing a new Chief Minister in Bihar as Nitish Kumar has not resigned from his post. His statement comes at a time when political discussions intensified after Nitish Kumar filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections.

Kushwaha said that the mandate of the people of Bihar belongs to Nitish Kumar and therefore any discussion about replacing him as Chief Minister is meaningless.

He questioned the ongoing speculation and said that since Nitish Kumar has not stepped down, the debate about a new CM is unnecessary.

The statement has created a buzz in political circles because in recent days there have been discussions suggesting that the Bharatiya Janata Party might be considering changes in leadership within the NDA alliance in Bihar.

Adding to the political developments, the Janata Dal (United) has announced a press conference on March 8 where the party’s Working President Sanjay Jha and State President Umesh Kushwaha are expected to address questions from the media regarding the current political situation.

Another important development is the entry of Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar into active politics. According to JDU leaders, Nishant Kumar will officially join the party on Sunday afternoon.

Umesh Kushwaha stated that many JDU leaders, MLAs and party workers had been demanding Nishant Kumar’s entry into politics for a long time. After repeated requests from party members, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar finally agreed to allow his son to join the party.

When asked about Nishant Kumar’s future role in the party, Kushwaha said that the party will definitely work under his leadership in the coming time.

Responding to questions about whether the BJP could have a Chief Minister in Bihar, Kushwaha reiterated that Nitish Kumar remains the leader of the NDA alliance in the state and that the public mandate clearly supports him.

He also clarified that since Nitish Kumar has not resigned, there is no question of forming a new government right now. According to Kushwaha, when the time comes, Nitish Kumar himself will decide who should hold the Chief Minister’s position.

Kushwaha also hinted that Nitish Kumar’s decision to file nomination for the Rajya Sabha was taken after careful consideration, suggesting that the Chief Minister may have a broader political strategy in mind.

For now, Bihar’s political landscape remains uncertain, and all eyes are on the upcoming JDU press conference, which may reveal more about Nitish Kumar’s future plans and the direction of politics in the state.
