Mumbai: Kiara Advani’s much-hyped bikini scene from War 2 has become the centre of a heated controversy after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reportedly removed it from the theatrical release. The nine-second sequence, which was teased in posters and promotional materials, had been one of the most talked-about highlights of the film’s marketing campaign.

However, with the CBFC’s cut, fans feel shortchanged. Many have now taken to social media, demanding that the filmmakers release the uncensored clip on YouTube before the film’s release, arguing that the promotional build-up made them expect its inclusion.
Hashtags like #ReleaseTheScene and #KiaraInWar2 have started trending, with hundreds of posts expressing frustration and disappointment.
“We were promised glamour with action. Those nine seconds were part of the hype — just upload them online!” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Neither Kiara nor the film’s production team has commented on the matter so far. Industry insiders, however, say the makers now face a delicate choice: stick to censorship rules or cater to the demands of their audience.
