Nagpur Shocked by Two Murders in One Hour — Old Rivalry and Alcohol Dispute Claim Lives

One victim was killed over an old rivalry, while the other lost his life in a drunken altercation. The swift double homicide has raised serious concerns about law and order in the city.

First Incident: 26-Year-Old Killed Over Old Enmity at Gujri Chowk

At around 1:00 AM, violence erupted in the Gujri Chowk area where 26-year-old Harshal Saudagar was stabbed to death.
Preliminary police investigation revealed that the murder stemmed from a long-standing personal rivalry.
The main accused, Vaibhav Hedau, along with three accomplices, allegedly attacked Harshal with knives.
All four were arrested shortly after the incident. Police are interrogating the accused and probing the motive behind the planned attack.

Second Incident: Fatal Fight Over Alcohol Near Cotton Market Metro Station

Just 30 minutes later, at approximately 1:30 AM, another murder was reported near Cotton Market Metro Station.
The victim, 36-year-old Amol Paikuji, was killed during a heated argument related to alcohol.
According to police, 42-year-old Shwetambar Meshram kicked Amol with force during the fight, causing him to collapse and die on the spot.
The accused was arrested within hours and a case has been registered.

Police Take Quick Action, But Public Safety in Question

Nagpur Police responded swiftly, arresting all accused in both cases.
While investigations are ongoing, these back-to-back killings have sparked fear among residents and raised questions about public safety and night-time patrolling in sensitive areas.

Increased Patrolling and Monitoring in Sensitive Zones

In response to the violence, the police have announced enhanced patrolling in high-risk zones and tighter monitoring during nighttime hours.
