Film producer Dhananjay Galani has alleged that Rahul Roy had taken advance money from him for working in the film. But Rahul Roy neither acted in the film nor returned Dhananjay’s money.

Producer Dhananjay Galani has sent a legal notice to ‘Aashiqui’ actor Rahul Roy over not returning a signing amount of Rs 50,000. Dhananjay signed Rahul for a short film in August 2020. The producer says, “I roped Rahul for seven days for an amount of Rs 1,00,000. He asked me to pay Rs 50,000 immediately and the remaining money after the completion of the work. Both of us got busy with other projects in the meantime. Unfortunately, he suffered from a brain stroke in November 2020 and I didn’t call him, as I didn’t want to bother him. When I reconnected with him in March, he told me that he would like to rest for about two months and then would shoot for my project. Two months later, I asked him about lining up the schedule but he said that he wouldn’t be able to work and return the money. However, each time I contact him, he promises to return the money but hasn’t done so in a year. I have now sent him a legal notice through my lawyer, Ali Kaashif Khan.”

Rahul, on his part, says, “I had been in talks with Dhananjay regarding the project for almost three years. When I was willing to shoot with him, he put it on hold and he wanted me to commence the shoot soon after I suffered from a brain stroke in 2020, which wasn’t possible. I was recovering then and couldn’t even speak properly. Also, I didn’t find the project appealing anymore. Since then he has been asking me to return his money. I have been slowly getting back to work and have every intention of repaying him, which I will do soon.”
