Shekhar described the singer’s deteriorating condition before his death, saying that Zubeen was gasping for breath and foaming at the mouth and nose — classic signs of poisoning. Shockingly, the manager dismissed these symptoms as “acid reflux” and refused to take any immediate action. Witnesses even heard him saying, “Jabo de, jabo de” — Assamese for “Let it be, let it be.”

A second post-mortem report has now been handed over to Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, who will decide whether to make it public.
